Nobody cares

We all serve our schedules well. Our alarm clocks are set. We wake up, we plan, we do, we meet, we smile, we care.
Everywhere we are told to think deeply, feel deeply, care more. Yet you find, that caring deeply hurts even deeper. Because yes, nobody actually cares.
When we get to the edge of the cliff, it is each to their own.

Right now, I’m so battered from caring that I feel like I’m one more disappointment away from shutting my doors permanently. Nobody cares.
This is exactly how the systems of this world operate. We run the race. We trip people so that we can get ahead. We get into other people’s heads so that they start believing they are weak and give up. We intimidate. We lie. We deceive. We gossip. We play our cards to privilege ourselves and defeat others. We blow out others’ candles so that our light can shine brighter.

Thing is, if you read the Bible, nothing has changed since Genesis. It’s the same pattern.
But then everything gets flipped in Matthew. A total plot twist. God had an idea.
One final move on the chessboard to break the cycle for those who choose to sign up.
And at the end, full immunity to all participants.
The challenge:
You will still have to operate IN this world (as described above), but do not get conformed to this world, Rom 12:2.
Unfortunately I have not figured this out, yet. I just realised that it’s not going to be easy, and that without relying the Holy Spirit, there is no light in the tunnel (except for an oncoming train). The Operating Manual God expects us to follow WILL bring us trouble, BUT His protection and help are promised to never leave us. And that, that is all I cling to today.
May you never grow tired of doing life God’s way. May you choose to stay true to the Manual. May you stand firm to care deeply in a world where nobody cares. May you continue to be the love of Christ to others’ brokenness. May you stop and use your candle to light up those who lost the hope of a flame. We will not reap the fruits now, but are called for more than earthly rewards. This creates real JOY inside of us. And that will be our strength.
Ps. 34-19-20
